The Economic Growth Advisers Programme: 2022/23 Showcase
Tuesday 28 February 2023, 10.30am – 12.00pm
This webinar will spotlight economic growth case studies undertaken by local authorities through the Economic Growth Advisers (EGA) programme. The EGA programme provides bespoke support to councils in areas related to economic growth through an adviser procured by the LGA.
Speakers will discuss the challenges and opportunities they have experienced to grow their local economy through these case studies and the lessons learned from setting out a roadmap to deliver these projects.
This webinar is being hosted to share learning more widely with the sector. Economic growth and regeneration officers as well as councillors with a portfolio for economic growth in particular may wish to attend.
Roundtable: How do councils attract a new talent pool in economic development as well as retain staff in the sector?
Wednesday 15 March 2023, 2:00pm – 3:30pm
The LGA’s Improvement Team will be hosting an Economic Growth roundtable which will explore the topic of attracting a new talent pool in economic development and retaining staff in the sector.
The roundtable will be an hour and a half long and will take place between 14:00 and 15:30 on Wednesday the 15 of March. The roundtable will be hosted virtually, with up to 30 council officers with a responsibility for economic growth and development.
This roundtable has been organised to reflect on the challenges and opportunities councils face from this issue across the country. It will also be an opportunity to share insights into how councils are attracting a new talent pool in economic development as well as retaining their staff in the sector.
Due to the limited places available for this event we ask that no more than 1 officer from each council attend.
This is a virtual roundtable taking place via Microsoft Teams.
Who should attend: Council officers with a responsibility for economic growth and development
Cost: Free to all
