LGA responds to National Panel Review

Cllr Anntoinette Bramble, Chair of the Local Government Association’s Children and Young People Board, responds to the National Panel Review into the deaths of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes and Star Hobson.

“The deaths of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes and Star Hobson were devastating tragedies, and our thoughts are with all those who knew and loved them.

“Today’s report puts forward recommendations that all those responsible for keeping children safe should consider carefully to ensure that they are doing all they can to protect children in their local areas.

“Keeping children safe is the responsibility of all partners in a local area. Councils want to work closely with those partners and the Government to learn from this report, alongside the Independent Review of Children’s Social Care published earlier this week, and implement the changes needed to support children and their families.”
